In clinic a physical examination including Chinese and Japanese diagnostics, plus measurements of blood pressure , 12 pulses and tongue diagnosis will be taken . Each person requires such detailed examination because they are unique and deserve individual care and attention. Subsequent treatments generally last up to 1 hour. Acupuncture is also very effective in the treatment of  all ages , children and young adults are welcome and treated with care and respect .

Acupuncture is a safe treatment for all. Some people may have acupuncture as a preventive measure to strengthen their constitution and wellbeing. It can also be used alongside conventional medicine in the treatment of both acute and chronic disease.

The benefits of acupuncture frequently include more than just relief from a particular condition. Many people find that it can also lead to increased energy levels, better appetite and sleep as well as an enhanced sense of overall wellbeing.

Most people's experience of needles is of those used in injections and blood tests. Acupuncture needles bear little resemblance to these. They are much finer and are solid rather than hollow.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs are an integral part of " TCM" Traditional Chinese Medicine and , until recently have been largely unexplored outside of China until this decade. There are over a thousand herbs and they are made up of parts of medicinal plants for example , the root , seed , fruit, flowers or leaves dried and treated without any chemical assistance, specifically formulated in Chinese pharmacopoeia collected from data over 3,000 years. Most formulas consist of between 6 and 16 types of herbs to be boiled and drunk as a "tea" (decoction), these are tailor made to suit the individual's patterns of disharmony. Herbal prescriptions can been made into powders or capsules for ease of intake and some creams combining Chinese herbs may also be offered particularly for people suffering from dry itchy skin conditions. Chinese herbs can be prescribed with the treatment of acupuncture or alone depending on the individual need or preference.

Cup Therapy

Cupping is a recognized and popular way to detoxify, it relaxes the body and improves natural health. It is performed by placing one or more small cups on the skin's surface and through removal of the air in the cup this eases local congestion. This unblocks lymph nodes along the spine, which in turn helps the body to work more efficiently.

Moxibustion Therapy

The application of mild heat to the body at specific acupuncture locations with glowing moxa wool (a finely chopped herb - folium Artemisia), an entirely painless and comfortable procedure. it helps blood and lymph circulation and maintains good health. In pregnancy it can also be used to gently re-align the fetus when in breech position.

Acupressure (Massage, Tuina)

Chinese therapeutic massage using various massage techniques and applied to certain locations of the body to treat and prevent disease, as well as relieving stress and easing aches and pains. Tui-Na Massage plays an important role in the fields of rehabilitation and health preservation, and also has been accepted as a safe, and, effective, relaxing therapy by people across the globe.

Treatments are available for Children from( 6 months old ), all can be treated using a combination of the above therapies as well as acupuncture including Japanese non-needle acupuncture technique as a substitute. After a detailed examination and consultation a discussion about the appropriate treatment will take place and the parent will be in the consultation room and be a part of their child's therapeutic experience.

Children can be treated from the age of 6 months up to teenage years and will benefit from much improved health and relaxation. Children respond very well to this sort of natural treatment and the treatments are made fun with the use of puppets, books + music.
